“We have always been looking for a good partner to tackle and improve the communication skills of our students. STEP team has done a phenomenal job and we received excellent feedback from students.”
For colleges and universities
Build communication skills across your campus.
STEP helps institutions assess students, group them by CEFR level, deliver online or classroom training, and report progress.
Selected for the NEAT Portal by AICTE

What we deliver
A programme built for your academic needs.
STEP Plus
Assessment and certification
A CEFR-aligned assessment of listening, speaking, reading and writing that places every student on the A1–C2 scale. Each student gets a skill-by-skill result and a certificate; you get the cohort picture behind it. Runs standalone when you need measurement rather than training.
STEP Train
Online training
A baseline assessment groups students by CEFR level, then online training runs at each group's level rather than the year's average. A post-assessment at the end measures the same skills the baseline did, so the movement is comparable.
STEP Train In-Class
Blended classroom and online
Scheduled contact hours with an instructor on campus, paired with the same level-based online pathway students work through between sessions. The classroom carries the cohort's curriculum while the online layer works on each student's own gaps, closing with the same post-assessment.
Admin Dashboard
Progress and outcome reporting
Student-level and cohort-level reports written for two different readers: academic teams tracking who has moved and who needs support, and placement teams needing evidence of communication readiness before recruiters arrive.

Institutions and university networks that have worked with STEP include:
How deployment works
A clear path from baseline to certification.
Baseline assessment
Assess current communication levels before training begins.
CEFR grouping
Group students by level so the learning is relevant.
Online, classroom or blended training
Deliver the chosen STEP Train model within the academic plan.
Post-assessment and certification
Review progress, share reports and issue the relevant certification.
